Astronomy as a Science
Astronomy is the science of the stars, the galaxies, the moons, the planets. It includes all the gases, colors,and auras. In short, Astronomy is the science of the universe. Astronomy is also the history of the Universe. Astronomy comprises prehistory, anthropology, geology, geography and technology. Astronomy is about mystery and intrigue. You will discover the violent beauty, the reasons behind the explosions, and the formations of galaxies. You will appreciate the history of how the world began. In short Astronomy is more than a science, it is history, and art. I hope you enjoy the class. I know I will. I am Professor Angelia Oort and it will be a pleasure teaching you. The Evolution and Creation of the World
There are many theories about how the world began. I will discuss both Evolution and Creation stories. Please, as I respect your choice of religion please understand that I am a historian and a scientist. While I respect all areas of "fact", I choose to believe what I have seen the evidence of. Please leave personal beliefs at the door when appropriate, and I will do the same. I will offer you the creation stories passed down from Ancient Wizards and Witches, and the Evolution Theory. I will Apologize now for those whom I offend.
